Protecting what matters most.

Josh Burns • Candidate for Michigan State Senate • District 21

Foundational Pillars

Life.

Defend innocent life. Empower parents. Protect our children.

Sanctity of Life

Every human life has value — from the moment of conception. We are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God, and I will fight to protect the innocent every step of the way.

School Choice

Education funding must follow each student to the school, program, or homeschool that serves them best — empowering parents and rewarding results over bureaucracy.

Protect Children's Innocence

I will defend the innocence of Michigan's children. Schools have no place introducing gender ideology or LGBTQ indoctrination to young students. Parents — not activists or bureaucrats — decide when and how these topics are addressed.

Land.

End property taxes. Protect our water and soil. Defend private property rights.

End Property Taxes

No one truly owns their home when they must pay the government every year just to keep it. I will work to end property taxes and restore genuine ownership of land to Michigan families.

Protect Our Water and Soil

Michigan's water and soil belong to its people. I will protect them from industrial threats, defend our aquifers and farmland, and ensure responsible stewardship that honors our land's sovereignty and sustains Michigan families.

Protect Private Property Rights

Private property is the foundation of liberty. I will fight eminent domain abuse and regulatory overreach from Lansing down to our local communities to protect how Michiganders use their own land.

Liberty.

Cut wasteful spending. End unconstitutional surveillance. Champion small business.

Cut the Waste

I will slash wasteful spending, root out fraud, cut bureaucracy, and reduce the tax burden on working families — so Michiganders keep more of what they earn.

End Government Spying

Flock cameras and vehicle kill switches represent unconstitutional surveillance of Michigan citizens by their own government. I will fight to remove these tools and protect the privacy of our families.

Champion Small Business

Small businesses are the engine of liberty and self-reliance. I'll slash red tape, reduce government interference, and empower entrepreneurs to build, innovate, and grow without unnecessary burden.

Josh Burns Endorses Dan Ewart for Michigan State Representative, District 73

Josh Burns, Republican candidate for Michigan State Senate District 21, today announced his endorsement of Dan Ewart for State Representative in Michigan’s 73rd House District.

“I’ve door-knocked with Dan. I’ve campaigned alongside him. We’ve spoken at the same events. We’ve rubbed shoulders a lot on this trail — and I don’t have a bad thing to say about him,” Burns said. “Dan shows up. He listens. He fights for families, for kids stuck in a failing school system, and for the character of the communities we love.”

Burns praised Ewart’s commitment to pro-life and pro-family values, his willingness to take a stand when local leadership fails the people it is supposed to serve, and his tireless ground game across District 73.

“In Lansing, District 73 needs a voice that works hard, tells the truth, and puts constituents first,” Burns said. “That’s Dan. If you live in the 73rd, I’m asking you: vote Dan Ewart for State Representative.”

Ewart, a lifelong Mid-Michigan resident, professional opera singer, educator, and stay-at-home father, is running in the Republican primary for the 73rd House District. His campaign has emphasized family, education reform, defending life, and restoring accountable representation in Lansing.

Burns is the Republican candidate for Michigan State Senate District 21, covering communities in Eaton and Ingham Counties. His campaign is built on the pillars of Life. Land. Liberty. — protecting Michigan families from overreach, waste, and the loss of their fundamental rights.
